Musies – A Tribute to Broadway: Live Highlight Reel

Danny Knapp on bass with Musies, tackling a 90-minute set drawn from 15 different musicals spanning 50 years of Broadway. Broadway parts are written more like orchestral arrangements than pop or rock songs — lines that rarely repeat, frequent time signature changes, and key changes within a single number are the norm rather than the exception. The band performs without a conductor, which means following the vocalist and staying locked in as a unit through all of that change in real time, with no baton keeping everyone together and no repeated sections to fall back into.
