Maiden United – Live at Garden Amphitheater

This Maiden United highlight reel was filmed at the Garden Amphitheater in Garden Grove, with clips of “Be Quick or Be Dead,” “Two Minutes to Midnight,” “Powerslave,” “The Evil That Men Do,” “Fear of the Dark,” “The Trooper” and “Run to the Hills.” Danny Knapp plays bass guitar in the band’s Iron Maiden tribute, covering the galloping lines and tempo changes Steve Harris’s bass parts call for, and performing as “Steve Hairless.”

What the gig asks of a bass guitarist

Iron Maiden’s songs leave little room to hide on bass. Danny plays Harris’s lines at speed, locks in with the drummer through constant tempo changes, sings backing vocals, and brings the stage presence a metal show expects.

Gear on this video

Danny played his Sandberg VS-5 with S.I.T. PowerWound nickel strings, running into a Kemper Profiler PowerRack and a Schroeder PL212 cabinet. More on his setup is on the gear page.
