Can’t wait to share this with everybody — @werenogentlemen just got the final, mastered version of our new cover song we just finished recording over the holidays for a record label that’s putting together a compilation album. We’ll share all the details with you as soon as we can!

There’s a lot of SoCal music history in the tape storage room at For The Record studios.

There’s a lot of SoCal music history in the tape storage room at For The Record studios. I’ve recorded with several projects here, but during the last @werenogentlemen recording sessions, I took a little time to browse in awe at all the amazing artists that rocked these halls, including:
Vandals, Death By Stereo, Thrice, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, Kottonmouth Kings, Cadillac Tramps, Atreyu, Jimmy Eat World, Earl Thomas, Bad Brains, Meat Puppets, No Doubt, Save Ferris, and many, many more. It was humbling yet inspiring to be in such good company. 🤘😎

Just goofing around at the recording studio while @danschizmusic was laying down some extra guitar tracks for our new song.

Just goofing around at the recording studio while @danschizmusic was laying down some extra guitar tracks for our new song. There’s a lot of ‘hurry up and wait’ in the recording process (and in the entertainment industry in general). It’s great to be able to pass the time with people you genuinely enjoying hanging out with. I loves my whole band-fam tribe.

Whenever given the chance, I love recording ‘live’, with everyone in the band playing together instead of tracking each instrument separately.

Whenever given the chance, I love recording ‘live’, with everyone in the band playing together instead of tracking each instrument separately. Just like at a live show, there’s an extra special magic that gets captured when we can make eye contact and respond to each other’s energy. @werenogentlemen recently took the opportunity to record our next single using this method. It was a blast and we all loved the experience.
