As it turned out, this ended up being our last gig together, but we had some great experiences as a band-fam. We all still keep in touch from time to time via social media. I get asked quite often about my customized bass guitars.

I get asked quite often about my customized bass guitars. Several of basses have custom pickguards made by Alper Eskimez of @alperiouspickguard. His work is absolutely amazing. These pickguards are made out of wood and metal, so they actually improve tone and sustain a little bit. Every pickguard Alper makes is built-to-order and one-of-a-kind. In the photo on the left, you can see the detail of the wood grain in the pickguard on one of my @ernieballmusicman basses (this one is named “Elvis”).

For the recording session, Danny used his Kemper Profiler with an Aguilar Tone Hammer & Aguilar 8×10 profile along with his trusty Ernie Ball Musicman Stingray 5HH loaded with Jim Dunlop flatwound strings.

I’ve been attending the NAMM show for years. It’s such a great opportunity to learn about all the new music tech being released as well as a chance to see so many great friends and peers. Sadly, the NAMM Winter Show won’t be be held in-person this year due to the pandemic. Although bass is my main instrument, I’ve been playing ukulele now for about 14 years.

Although bass is my main instrument, I’ve been playing ukulele now for about 14 years. I’ve had the honor to learn and perform traditional Hawaiian and contemporary music with several great kumu (teachers), and I’ve been lucky to play ukulele in some recording studio sessions as well. In the coming weeks I will be posting some cover songs and ukulele how-to videos on my YouTube channel.
