throwbackthursday – I miss traveling all over SoCal in order to work with @dionjackson. I’ve had such a blast performing live, interactive music/fitness routines with him at events far and wide. I cherish these experiences. His friendship and mentoring in all matters has helped me make big strides in my career and life in general. Much thanks, D!
Here’s a quick demo of the bass synth preset I created for performing the Missing Persons song “Words” using the @SourceAudio C4 Synth pedal.

Whenever given the chance, I love recording ‘live’, with everyone in the band playing together instead of tracking each instrument separately.
Whenever given the chance, I love recording ‘live’, with everyone in the band playing together instead of tracking each instrument separately. Just like at a live show, there’s an extra special magic that gets captured when we can make eye contact and respond to each other’s energy. @werenogentlemen recently took the opportunity to record our next single using this method. It was a blast and we all loved the experience.

This bass doesn’t have magnetic pickups. It’s a Lightwave-powered bass from @willcoxguitars. It uses an optical pickup system built into the bridge saddles. This bass provides analog and digital output so I can use it as a bass guitar and a MIDI controller at the same time. The analog bass tone is fantastic, and it enables me to just bring one bass to a gig or recording session, even when I need to play synth bass lines.
Since the pandemic started I have had some time to focus on becoming a better vocalist, both for background vocals as well as singing lead on some projects.
Since the pandemic started I have had some time to focus on becoming a better vocalist, both for background vocals as well as singing lead on some projects. I’ve been working with a great vocal coach, @theofficialjulianmiranda. With his help, my vocal capabilities (and my confidence) are growing stronger all the time. I can’t thank Julian enough for his expertise and friendship.

throwbackthursday This time last year I played my first gig after my appendix burst and I spent 4 days in the hospital due to complications. I’m very grateful for all the support from my friends and family. With their help, I was able to take the stage just over a month into my recovery.
