It’s crazy to think of how many stories and fond memories you can recall just from the stickers, dents, and scratches you find on your travel cases.

If only these bass guitar cases could talk! I originally just started with my name and a few stickers on each case so that I could recognize my gear when it’s dark backstage and at the airport, and so that crew and other musicians don’t accidentally pack the wrong gear in their trucks (no one can mistake my ugly cases).
Over time, the stickers get ripped off due to use and abuse, so I just add more stickers over the top of the old ones. Besides, it gives me somewhere to put all those cool decals you get when traveling and when you buy new gear.

I’m looking forward to later this year when we can all get back out there and do some road gigs and fly-in gigs so I can collect some more stickers. 😉

I’ve been attending the NAMM show for years.

I’ve been attending the NAMM show for years. It’s such a great opportunity to learn about all the new music tech being released as well as a chance to see so many great friends and peers. Sadly, the NAMM Winter Show won’t be be held in-person this year due to the pandemic. Since today would have been the first day of the event, I figured it would be an appropriate TBT to post a few photos from NAMMs of the past

So sorry to hear of the passing of Tim Bogert.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Tim Bogert. He was a huge influence for me and so many other bass players. He was so versatile, and knew when to hold the groove and when to get crazy. Tim helped to define modern bass technique and style. Hopefully, he and EVH are jammin’ again. RIP 🤘😎

Here’s the full length version of the play-through for “Promises”, where I explain the tones and techniques I uses when performing this song by my band We’re No Gentlemen.

Since Monday was International Rush Day (21/12), for waybackwednesday, here is the full-length version of the bass cover I did for “Fly By Night” to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the release of Rush’s second album and tour of the same name.

To make things a little more challenging, I did this version on my fretless 5-string bass.
