I’m so happy with my current bass rig. For the past four years or so, using @kemperamps_official has been a game-changer for me, both for my original projects as well as my session work and the cover bands I play in. Having the capability to switch my amp tone at will is like getting to carry all my favorite amps around with me at without breaking my back (or my bank account).

For a few of my projects, I’m now exploring automation for my program/effect changes with @ableton software. Once I get this done, it will free me up during live performances so that I don’t have to mash foot controller buttons and I just can concentrate on playing, singing, and putting on a good show.

I’m putting together a video series for a rundown on my rig, using a Kemper as a bassist, and how to integrate a Kemper with midi effect pedals, Ableton Live, and all kinds of fun stuff. Details coming soon!

I just got to listen to the finished track I played on at a recent recording studio session. The song came out great, and I can’t wait to share it with y’all once the artist announces the release. I’m so grateful to have these opportunities and experiences: recording in fantastic studios, and contributing & collaborating with such talented artists, musicians, producers and engineers. I’m stoked that I have more recording sessions coming up very soon with my various bands and projects.

throwbackthursday October 2019, soundcheck and performance at the Palm Desert Civic Center with LA Sound Machine. It’s only been a year, but seems like forever since we’ve gotten to play in front of a crowd like this. I feel very fortunate that I still get to perform music via online streaming concerts and drive-in shows, but I look forward to seeing all the smiling faces in-person as soon as it’s safe again.

Yay!

Yay! The first batch of my new custom bass picks from @steveclaytoninc were delivered. Now I just need some more gigs so that I can throw them at people 🀘😎

Looking forward to some upcoming studio sessions in the next few weeks.

Looking forward to some upcoming studio sessions in the next few weeks. As much as I crave performing live, being in the recording studio definitely qualifies as being in my ‘happy place’ too. I love the challenges of the creative process, the collaboration with the other artists and production team, and the satisfaction of being able to say, “We made this!” when listening to the final produced song. 🀘😎
