I had to grow out a bit of scruff for my first paid acting role as ‘a certain podcaster’ for a hip-hop music video. I had a lot of fun on the shoot and I can’t wait to see the finished video.

I just got to listen to the finished track I played on at a recent recording studio session. The song came out great, and I can’t wait to share it with y’all once the artist announces the release. I’m so grateful to have these opportunities and experiences: recording in fantastic studios, and contributing & collaborating with such talented artists, musicians, producers and engineers. I’m stoked that I have more recording sessions coming up very soon with my various bands and projects.
Looking forward to getting started on another original project with these guys (@poli_rhythms & @sfrguitar).
Looking forward to getting started on another original project with these guys (@poli_rhythms & @sfrguitar). I’ve been working with them in various bands for quite a while, but it never gets old. Whether on the stage or in the studio, I’m a better musician when I’m trying to keep up with them, and we always have a few laughs along the way.
Yay!
Yay! The first batch of my new custom bass picks from @steveclaytoninc were delivered. Now I just need some more gigs so that I can throw them at people 🤘😎
I love writing and performing original music.
I love writing and performing original music. However, it comes first and foremost from being a huge music fan, and from being inspired by learning and playing the music of other artists too.
In addition to the original bands and artists I work with, I play in several tribute and cover bands, including a @pink tribute, ‘Raise Your Glass’. Here’s a clip of us having a blast performing “18-Wheeler” live.
Doing our best to do justice to P!nk’s music is no small feat. P!nk is an amazing singer and performer, and her band is full of top-knotch musicians, including Eva Gardner on bass, Justin Derrico on guitar, and Mark Schulman on drums. I’ve seen them live several times, and it’s always an awesome, high-energy show.

Close-up detail of the @alperiouspickguard on my @ernieballmusicman Stingray 5HH “Sakura” bass. It’s a one-of-a-kind work of art, super durable, and it adds a nice, subtle change in tone and increase of sustain. I love the single lotus blossum around the pickup selector switch.

Although bass is my main instrument, I’ve been playing ukulele now for about 14 years.
Although bass is my main instrument, I’ve been playing ukulele now for about 14 years. I’ve had the honor to learn and perform traditional Hawaiian and contemporary music with several great kumu (teachers), and I’ve been lucky to play ukulele in some recording studio sessions as well. In the coming weeks I will be posting some cover songs and ukulele how-to videos on my YouTube channel.
Back in the Studio with The Bredren
